Mario Party 9: First win and a little review

smwforever45 is back with a new post! :)

Nothing satisfies me more than a win in a Mario Party game. Except maybe a win with Yoshi in a Mario Party game which is brand new and differs from the previous parts a lot. ;)
It was a close one, but in the end, after some exciting fights, I did it - once again. :D

So after that first match, I can say that Mario Party 9 is one of the best of its series, if not THE best. My previous favorites were Mario Party 8 and DS, but this one has some really exciting new features, like:
  • Mini boss fights and boss fights.
  • Going backwards on the five (+2 unlockable) available boards.
  • Tons of new, awesome minigames.
  • Mini stars instead of stars and coins.
  • Bowser is able to manipulate almost everything if you land on a Bowser field - for example, you have to get last in a mini game to get mini stars (which is a lot of fun).
  • Every player is now moving together with all other ones instead of moving on their own, and there's a so called Captain who has special fields on the board, can collect mini stars scattered all around the board, can get bonuses in mini games, and much more.
  • There are special dices to collect. Like dices going from 4 to 6, 0 to 1, or even 1 to 10. (The standard dices go from 1 to 6 now instead of 1 to 10 in previous Mario Party games.)
  • You don't play mini games after one turn for each player anymore; you only play one if you land on a boss, mini boss or mini game field, or if you get a mini game from a blue field.
  • All boards have a central dead end. If you reach it, there will be a boss fight, and then the game will end. No turn limit anymore.
  • Et cetera.
I knew from the beginning it would be awesome, and I'm not disappointed at all. Nintendo did a great job. :D

And a side note concerning my Minecraft project (see the first post from February for some information about it): As 1.2 came out now, the project has now officially started. I currently got 18 of 104 layers finished, so it's still a long way to go. ;)
